Dry sift is one of the oldest forms of concentrated cannabis. An extremely simple process, dry sift utilizes gravity, temperature and humidity to isolate trichomes. Flowers or trim are placed over a screen , and agitated or bounced around. Below the screen will be a “full spectrum” extract, containing particles that are small enough to fall through the little holes. These particles can range from dirt and dust, to bugs, to tiny pieces of plant matter, to trichomes. If a graduating series of screens are used, particle sizes , and therefore trichomes can be isolated quite well, and there are new technologies and innovations that have made this ancient technique into what many consider to be the best extracts in the game today. Extremely low temperature rosin is made with these isolated heads, and the most expensive (maybe best) extracts in California are produced.
